Centre Co., PA (WJAC) — A former Penn State student who was charged last year with vandalizing the Nittany Lion statue at the University Park campus has been approved for an ARD probation program in Centre County court.
Police say Julia Cipparulo admitted to breaking off one of the lion's ears and splashing red paint on it.
Officials say the court program also requires Cipparulo to undergo a mental health evaluation and pay nearly $42,000 in restitution to the university.
