Officials announce plan to 'modernize' Johnstown postal service processing center
JOHNSTOWN, Pa. (WJAC) — The future of mail operations at Johnstown’s USPS processing center is a little clearer after officials announced a plan to modernize operations.
Officials say there will be no career layoffs at the facility, however they do leave open the possibility some of those jobs could be reassigned to other locations.
They say the facility will remain open as they invest $3.7 million into the facility to streamline processing and distribution.
They say the announcement comes after conducting a business review and receiving public feedback about the facility's future.
