Gleb Savchenko Responds to Emma Slater, Alan Bersten Dating Rumors
Is another Dancing With the Stars relationship brewing? Pro dancer Gleb Savchenko recently responded to the rumors that Emma Slater and Alan Bersten are dating. Keep reading to learn what he said about the pair below.
DWTS is ABC’s popular dance competition where professional dancers compete and are paired up with celebrities to win the coveted Mirrorball trophy. The show premiered in 2005 and has aired for 32 seasons. Each week, competitors are eliminated based on public voting and scores received from the judges.
Emma Slater joined DWTS in Season 17 and won her first and only Mirrorball trophy during Season 24 with her partner Rashad Jennings. Like many other pros, Slater found love on the show; she was married to her now ex-husband, Sasha Farber, who also got his start on DWTS as a troupe member in Season 14 and was promoted to be a professional dancer in Season 17 as well.
In 2016, Sasha surprised viewers by proposing to Slater during a live broadcast of Dancing With the Stars in Season 32. They tied the knot in March 2018 at Bella Blanca in Los Angeles. Unfortunately, their marriage ended a few years later in February 2023.
Salter revealed on Nick Viall’s The Viall Files podcast in August 2023 that she and Faber divorced because she didn’t want to have kids just yet. “It’s really the kid thing,” Slater said in the episode. “It’s interesting because I do want to have kids, I just don’t want to delay Sasha’s path in having kids because I know that he is ready for that. I don’t want to talk about him too much because that’s really for him to say, but it’s about kids.”
After their divorce, Slater and Sasha were pros in the recent season of Dancing With the Stars. Now, Slater may be starting something new without another pro dancer from the show: Alan Bersten (who briefly dated his Season 25 partner Alexis Ren in 2018).
Rumors started swirling after the official Instagram account for the DWTS Live! 2024 Tour posted several behind-the-scenes photos of the pros rehearsing. In one group shot, Slater placed her hand on top of Bersten’s hand as they laughed with the rest of the dancers.
Fans pointed to the hand-holding moment and started speculating on the pair’s relationship status. In a Reddit thread, one fan wrote: “Side piece moving up to boyfriend status after 4 years of waiting. You go guys.” A second commented, “Lol and yet you all refuse to believe the ‘rumors’ about them. Some of the comments on this post are funny too.” A third fan wrote, “I’m here for it 🤣,” while a fourth dismissed the rumors, writing in part: “People are so ridiculous. Like honestly who cares what they do now. Who cares if they’re just friends who cares if they decide to date in the future.”
Months later, Slater and Bersten were both on the DWTS Live! 2024 Tour, which ended on March 27. In a new interview with The U.S. Sun, their fellow tour mate Gleb Savchenko was asked about the romance rumors.
“There’s no comment on that,” Savchenko said. However, he did speak generally about the rumors and noted that the cast is a family. “We’re this big dysfunctional family you could say,” he added.
Savchenko’s interview comes after the dancer announced that he will be swapping the DWTS ballroom for the Chippendales stage in Las Vegas and Atlantic City. Savchenko will perform from April 25 through May 12 (Thursday through Sunday performances) at the Rio Hotel & Casino and will join the cast for six shows at the Hard Rock Hotel & Casino Atlantic City over the summer.
As for Slater and Bersten’s alleged relationship, we’ll have to wait and see what happens over the next few months.
