Windber man who pled guilty to killing wife, burying her under home sentenced
Somerset Co., PA (WJAC) — A Windber man who pled guilty to killing his wife and burying her under their home was sentenced Thursday, according to the Somerset County District Attorney's office.
Officials say James Kline, 50, was sentenced to serve 6-to-40 years in prison in the death of his wife, Cora Kline, in the spring of 2019.
Kline pled guilty in January to third degree murder and abuse of a corpse.
Investigators say Cora Kline was reported missing by her husband on April 5, 2019, and her remains were found a few months later.
Her husband, James, reportedly told police that she had run away from their home.
Police say he later changed his story to say that he "found her unresponsive and had assumed she had overdosed, so he buried her."
Investigators say Kline eventually confessed to strangling and killing his wife following an argument.
