What are the best moves for Crustle?

Crustle is a Bug and Rock-type Pokémon. It’s weak to Rock, Steel, and Water-type Pokémon, but it’s resistant to Normal and Poison-type attacks. It has a maximum CP of 2,542, an attack of 188, a defense of 200, and stamina of 172. It has a variety of use for the Great, but not so much the Ultra league unless you can provide bulkier options with a variety of coverage.

Here are all of the moves Crustle can learn.

Fast moves

Charge moves

Crustle has several low energy charge moves that make it a standout option for those looking to do some heavy burst damage against an opponent. Knowing this is the real piece of critical information because that’s where Crustle’s glory truly shines and why it determines the ideal fast move. Normally, you’d go with smack down because of how much more damage it does. However, because of the low cost of several charge moves, fury cutter becomes the better choice, providing twice as much energy per attack.

The charge moves you want to pick to optimize that amount of energy are x-scissor and rock slide. While rock blast is a decent option, having x-scissor and rock slide give Crustle a wider coverage with some more damage overall, allowing it to be a far more optimal choice than the other combinations. You can substitute rock slide or x-scissor for rock blast, but it lowers Crustle’s overall winning chances against a good number of Pokémon.

You’re better off sticking with the basics and not trying to overthink Crustle. It’s a decent choice, especially in the Great league. When it comes to the Ultra league, it won’t be amazing or even decent, but you can optimize your team to make up for it if it’s what you want to use. Make sure it knows fury cutter for its fast move, and then it knows rock slide and x-scissor for its charge moves.
